Original Footage In It's Raw State

Above highlights a variety of different shots and footage I filmed. These are all cuts in its original state before editing etc. Therefore having all parts of my footage in its raw states highlights the improvements I have made when linking visuals to lyrics. Similarly all the above footage emphasises the range of locations I used. Using a range of locations is vitally important when aiming to engage the audience as the constant change prevents the audience from becoming bored.

Magazine Ad Planning

Creating a magazine ad plan is very important when conducting successful and unsuccesful ideas. When creating a rough copy of my magazine on paper I made sure I concentrated on the essential elements such as a masthead, review, rating, website etc. Therefore I was aware that my artistic skills wasn't the most important feature.

Before I had even started drafting my magazine I already knew that I was going to have a main bleed that took up the majority of the page. I wanted to have a large picture of the artist due to her being the main point of focus. Similarly I wanted the audience to identify with the artist through the use of facial expression, costume, body language etc.

Furthermore I made sure that I included the tittle of the album at the top of the the page. Having it centered and in a larger font to the rest of the text ensures that the audience are immediately drawn to it meaning that they are aware of the purpose of the magazine.

Music Video Feedback

Furthermore above is another video I uploaded from YouTube which illustrates how I conducted another form of feedback. Throughout the video I am carrying out I used a focus group. I decided to use a focus group due to wanting to display my music video to a wide range of individuals. Therefore for the first section of the clip I am simply showing a draft of my music video to the rest of my class, however once it has been shown I focus on getting feedback enabling me to improve on my work.

There are many purposes of carrying out a focus group. Some include being able to identify changes in behaviour, suggest potential solutions to problems identified, deepen areas of improvement, and interactive with my intended target audience etc. Therefore this immediately allows me to believe that carrying out a focus group is beneficial and effective as it has more than one purpose.

Additionally there are many advantages of focus groups aswell as purposes for instance I am able to get a broader range of information as I have a diverse range of respondents. Similarly I am able to obtain detailed information about personal and group feelings, perceptions, and opinions.  Likewise any criticism given I am able to ask immediately how I can improve and develop my work so that the audience can maintain engaged. Therefore this allows me to identify quickly what I have to do in order to get the best possible grade.

Production Log

Wednesday 22nd January
In today's lesson I am going to upload my music video feedback which I presented to the class. This was beneficial when conducting relevant feedback as I wanted to get both constructive and positive feedback. I am going to look at all the constructive feedback as I aim to improve my music video to the best standard possible.
